FARMERS MARKETS

NORTH PARADE   |   1st & 3rd SATURDAY IN THE MONTH


Aberystwyth Farmers’ Market was launched in May 2000 and continues to be successful hosting up to 30 stalls every first and third Saturday in the month. Aberystwyth Farmers’ Market has won Best Food Market in the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards 2014. In 2011 the market was voted amongst the Top 10 Farmers’ Market in the UK.

ABER CYCLE FESTIVAL

TOWN CENTRE   |  19 – 29th MAY 2018


A celebration of cycling in Mid Wales, including town centre criterium racing, downhill mountain biking and a mass participation ride – the Continental Welsh Wild West Sportive, covering all the best roads in Ceredigion. Aberystwyth Cycle Festival also includes fringe events all week and of course brings you the thrills of town centre cycle races all afternoon and evening on the 26th May.

SEA 2 SHORE FOOD FESTIVAL

PROMENADE   |   SUNDAY 12th AUGUST 2018


Stroll between the food stalls and enjoy the multitude of aromas from paella to pizza and everything in between. Take the kids to see the aquarium of local fish, let them have a go on the climbing wall and the Go Karts, have a paddle or catch a crab from the jetty and then go shopping? 

LANTERN PARADE

TOWN CENTRE   |   SATURDAY 1st DECEMBER 2018


Each year sees the Aberystwyth Christmas Tree lit up to celebrate the arrival of the Lantern Parade which makes its way down from St Michael’s Church, Laura Place to Owain Glyndwr Square.  The procession is led by a specially chosen Mary and Joseph each Christmas with followers carrying their wonderful lantern creations glimmering and shining like stars in the dark evening.

ST. DAVID’S DAY PARADE

TOWN CENTRE   |   1st MARCH 2019


A colourful and musical celebration of St David, the Welsh language, and of unique Welsh culture. The parade norally starts at 1pm from Town Clock Square, going down Great Darkgate Street, into Baker Street, and to Llys y Brenin – the former King’s Hall – where a short ceremony is held.
